Irahl

name Irahl age Somewhere around 150-200 concept Dragonslayer sniper who hopes that killing things will make him feel less sad home Nor (dystopian modern fantasy) sign Capricorn
personality ▼
Most people only ever see the silent and intimidating persona that Irahl wears as a suit of armor. All work, no play. He's a soldier and a hunter, and he tries very hard to eliminate or ignore most other aspects of himself. Miraculously get past any of that, and there's also a guy with a biting sense of humor and a whole lot of self-loathing. Pretends that he isn't the same kind of monster that he hunts. Pretends that he's okay with being part of the system. Pretends that there isn't more to the story.
appearance ▼
Irahl is a big, grim sniper man. Looming at 6'10" and never seeming to leave work mode, he tends to scare people. It's generally not on purpose, though. He just naturally exudes an air of "do not approach."
Despite his commitment to his work, his hair is WAY too long to be practical and always either banded or plaited into a braid that falls down his back. Always dressed in many layers if he can help it. Dragon traits that he tries really hard to hide: pointed canines, scattered scales on his hands and arms, short spikes hidden in his hair, claws (filed down as short as he can), a whole mess of scales covering his throat (hidden under scarves and high collars. Always carries a music device and earbuds.

abilities ▼
Dragon:Irahl is technically a full-blood dragon, but as he is a mix of two different bloodlines, things don't work quite as they should. He can't shift forms and can't harness most of his powers (unless he successfully shifts forms someday, and then everyone is in trouble). Passive abilities include being able to sense magic, being generally stronger and better at physical matters than a human, having some resistance to magic (especially elemental), and being metaphysically connected to the rest of his species whether he likes it or not. Less-passive abilities include limited (unconscious) control over water and ice, and a conjuring a defensive shield made of dampening energy that happens on reflex.
Sniper: Has a GIANT FUCKOFF sniper rifle that is his very best friend. Also very capable in hand-to-hand (and knife-to-knife) combat, and is generally a beast to try and fight. Is hard to kill. Hunts other dragons as a career.
